Ringo Starr Says the Beatles' AI-Assisted Final Song "Should've Been Out Already"
The song is still on track to come out this year
Published Oct 03, 2023Beatles fans have been eagerly anticipating what's reported to be the group's final song ever since Paul McCartney promised it would come out in 2023 back in June — and, according to Ringo Starr, it's been ready to release for a while now.
"It should've been out already," he said in a recent interview with AP News.
The two surviving members recorded new parts on the drums and bass for the new track, which used AI to extract John Lennon and George Harrison's vocals and guitar from old demos.
Since several fans assumed that the song was completely AI-generated like the Drake and the Weeknd imitation "Heart on My Sleeve," Ringo also took the opportunity to clear up that speculation.
"The rumors were that we just made it up," he said. "Like we would do that anyway ... This is the last track, ever, that you'll get the four Beatles."
Although some key details (notably, the title) have yet to be unveiled, by the sounds of Ringo's mindset, the song is well on its way to being released in the final few months of 2023.
