Persuasions Sing The Beatles
Published May 01, 2002
The Persuasions are a four-piece that do cover versions of acts like Frank Zappa and the Grateful Dead, a cappella. The songs we all know, "Eight Days a Week, "Love Me Do, "Yesterday, etc., and these interpretations arent too hard to imagine. But its when Jerry, Jayotis, Ray and Jim tackle something like "Come Together, where they dont just tackle the melodies but become the actual instruments, that it travels beyond any expectations. Like human beat-boxes, the quartet hit that infamous bass line immaculately and even add their own freakified wah noises. Closing it all off with "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band is a nice touch, adding the cheers and everything.
