Year of Glad "Blythe" (video)

Year of Glad 'Blythe' (video)
Montreal's Year of Glad self-released their EP Old Growth last year on CD and cassette, but now it's got remixed and remastered for a vinyl release through Vox Humana Records. In anticipation of the record's November 13 arrival, the track "Blythe" has gotten a video, and Exclaim! has the premiere.

The song is a spacious, atmospheric post-rock track in which overdriven guitar licks and howling vocal incantations are wrapped in moody reverb, while cascading drums drive the arrangement to cinematic, abstract crescendos.

The accompanying video was directed by Armen Bazarian and Matt Greyson, and it captures the otherworldly dreaminess of the song by showing billowing ripples of colourful liquid. Think of it as the album cover of Future's DS2 brought to life.

Check out the premiere of the clip below. The song is additionally available as a free download on Bandcamp.
