Published Mar 19, 2012A stream of Rusko's new record Songs popped up on Mixmag against the DJ's wishes this morning (March 19), sending the artist into a series of angry tweets directed at his label, Mad Decent.
While the label sanctioned the stream, Rusko apparently wanted the collection to keep mum until its proper street date of March 27, FACT reports. His fear is that the stream will now be ripped and uploaded to other sites like YouTube.
"Try and keep something under wraps for months and then the fucking label allows a full live stream. Congrats @maddecent it's everywhere now," Rusko posted, lambasting Mad Decent's business practices before summing up his feelings about his company with a succinct "Cunts."
The stream has Rusko so choked that he's already considering severing ties with Mad Decent and is thinking about hosting Songs for free on his website to sabotage sales.
"27th march I'm free. I might just put the album for free on my website to fuck em. I just want u guys to have it," he ranted, adding, "I'm gonna post the fucking torrent links day of release. No $ for u@maddecent."
The stream has since been removed from Mixmag, with the publication tweeting, "Once again, apologies @ruskoofficial. We were told it was cool to start hyping your new record. Pls don't shoot the messenger."
Rusko replied, "@Mixmag no messengers shot!! U guys r just reppin -- big ups for that!"
Mad Decent has yet to respond to Rusko's comments.
