Published Jul 06, 2017Beastie Boys unleashed "Sabotage" back in 1994, delivering one of the decade's most memorable music videos. Now, 23 years later, the Spike Jonze-directed '70s crime parody has been treated to a spoof of its own.
A new mash-up finds Sesame Street's beloved Big Bird stepping into the Beasties' shoes and fleeing the scene in dramatic fashion.
The excellently edited piece uses existing footage from the long-running children's show set to the classic Ill Communication cut, and was created by mash-up artist and YouTube user Adam Schleichkorn (a.k.a. Mylo the Cat).
"The original 'Sabotage' music video is without a doubt, one of the greatest of all time, so I knew I couldn't do a regular old lip sync video," he says in the video's description. "I had to bring it."
Schleichkorn also includes a shout-out to the late Adam Yauch — so you could say the video is brought to us by the letters M, C and A.
