HBO Might Make More 'Big Little Lies' After All
HBO recently had another major hit with Big Little Lies, a standalone miniseries from director Jean-Marc Vallée. The eight-episode show was an adaptation of Lianne Moriarty's book of the same name, and was never intended to last more than one season. Of course, as with any successful property, there's now a chance for more episodes.

Speaking with Australia's Sydney Morning Herald [via Deadline], Moriarty admitted that she's been discussing the possibility of a follow-up with the show's producers.

"I have started to think about ways this could continue," she said. "The producers have asked me to see if I can come up with some ideas. I wouldn't write a new book but perhaps a new story and then we'll see what happens."

There were plenty of aspects from the novel that were not included in HBO's show, such as the backstory of Bonnie (played by Zoe Kravitz). For Moriarty, this means the characters could be revisited.

"My original reaction was what have they done? How have they left that out?" she admitted. "But a lot of people have said that they could tell [what was Bonnie's true story], there had been little hints and that you can take that away. It's implied in her performances and some little lines. I think I might have preferred to have had it in there but I wouldn't argue against it either. It also leaves open the possibility of season two."

Starring Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgård and Adam Scott, Big Little Lies will likely be a major talking point at next year's Golden Globes and Emmys.
